Terms of Use

Please read these terms carefully before using BooksConnect.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the BooksConnect mobile application or any associated services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

BooksConnect is a digital book rental platform that allows users to browse, rent, and read books through our mobile application. We offer both free and premium subscription plans with varying levels of access to our book library.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

You may register using your email address, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple. You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Plan

The free plan provides limited access to our book library with a monthly reading limit. No payment is required for the free plan.

Premium Subscription

  • Premium Monthly subscription is available at $9.99/month
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
  • You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your account settings on the App Store or Google Play Store after purchase
  • Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription
5. Content and Intellectual Property

The books available through BooksConnect are primarily public domain works sourced from Project Gutenberg and similar repositories. All other content, including but not limited to the app design, logos, graphics, and software, is the property of BooksConnect or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and read books through the Service for personal, non-commercial use only.

6. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
  • Copy, distribute, or modify any part of the Service without our written consent
  • Use automated means to access the Service
  • Share or transfer your account to another person
7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by visiting our account deletion page. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BOOKSCONNECT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
